A Letter From
MVLA Foundation President, Rebecca Lowell
As we embark on our 40th year, we celebrate our success and our gratitude for community support.

The 2021-22 school year has come to an end, and despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic challenges, things have begun to return to normal. We enjoyed seeing students back on campus participating in events and traditions and teachers engaging with their students in the classroom. And thanks to the generosity of so many in our community, the Foundation raised a record amount to fully fund our grant of $2,068,000 to the school district.

The MVLA High School Foundation will celebrate its 40th anniversary during the 2022-23 school year. In 1982, a group of local parents and community members realized the need for additional funding for our schools to help close the budget gaps in our district. The MVLA High School Foundation was born with the first grant to the district of $13,000 for bookbinding supplies and equipment. Since then, the Foundation’s grants have steadily increased in size and scope.

The world has changed immensely since 1982, and the MVLA High School Foundation has worked to keep pace with the changes. Over 40 years, we have raised $25M for our school district, and we will continue to strive to encourage innovation and educational excellence. We look forward to celebrating with you throughout the next year!

Hats Off to 40 Years!

Rebecca Lowell & the MVLA High School Foundation Board
